The Multiplication Effect

by May 30, 2017Missions

And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” -Genesis 1:28

The power of multiplication is far greater than simply adding numbers one by one. God desires to use us to multiply His Kingdom here on earth. He has commanded us to mentor and disciple others in the ways of Jesus so they can inherit eternal life by the forgiveness of sins, but also so they can have an abundant life here on earth! If we simply share the gospel and lead someone to accept Christ, and they walk away still living the same lifestyle of sin and bondage there is something wrong. All students need a teacher and someone to guide, correct, and love them into truth. Jesus even corrected his followers when they were wrong because He truly loved them. He wanted them to be equipped with the truth because He knew His time was short on earth before He was crucified.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. -Matthew 28:19

Your time is also very short on this earth. What kind of lasting impact do you want to leave behind? What will your legacy be? We are not just called to know Jesus for ourselves, we are called to reach the entire world with God’s love! Truly reaching people is walking with them in their daily life, loving them, and speaking the truth in love to those that God has entrusted you to influence in a godly way.

Jesus took twelve very average young men and taught them His ways so they would have successful and fruitful lives. He also mentored many women and the very first missionary evangelist was a woman! These followers of Jesus influenced, healed, taught, trained, equipped, and mentored many which led to thousands and has now grown into millions of people knowing Jesus for themselves. I think it’s absolutely amazing how the words and teachings of Jesus are still being multiplied every single day through believers like you and I. The words of the Bible are not just words on a page. They are life giving and life transforming if you read them truly as a love letter from God to you.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. – 2 Corinthians 5:17

I have taken what Jesus has said in the Bible to heart in relation to my former career as a teacher and coach and now as a full-time evangelist. I wanted to influence people as someone that they knew was truly a Christ follower in my words and actions. I wanted them to remember the Jesus in me, and know I was a woman of integrity and great character.

When God highlights someone to me I think it is such a privilege to pour the knowledge and wisdom He has given me to others so they can also do the same! Here is a picture of a young girl named Zoe that I recently took out for a treat after school. Simply taking the time to listen and love on her was incredibly awesome. I was able to give her nuggets of wisdom that she can take to use for her own life. Leaders multiply other leaders, and I know Zoe will multiply many other leaders in Christ’s ways.

Another person I want to highlight is my friend, Andrea Wollenzin, who is a young evangelist from San Antonio, Tx. I met Andrea at a Bible study and knew immediately that she was a leader and destined for greatness. A few weeks into the Bible study Andrea found out she was pregnant. She was scared and unsure of whether she was going to keep the baby or not being a single mom, and the financial strain it would be for her. She prayed to God and He clearly told her to keep this baby saying, “I will use Him mightily, I love him, and He is mine.” She obeyed God and had baby Everett! That led her to want to influence other young moms and encourage them that they too had special babies and God would also take care of them and all of their needs. She is now equipping, training, and loving on many teenagers in a program called “Young Lives”. These are all at risk kids that need not only a positive influence of hope in their life but to know that Jesus is the source behind this hope!

She is also leading a bible study twice a month on the power of soul healing through her own life experiences and also Katie Souza’s teachings.(https://www.expectedendministries.org/)

I am incredibly proud of Andrea and how she was reminded by God that ALL things work together for good to those who are the called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)

Andrea is a true follower of Christ multiplying and mobilizing many to know the truth of who Jesus is, and how He can transform their lives. These “young lives” she has been mentoring are going to multiply others. Now that’s called bringing the Kingdom of God to earth!

I ask you again, what kind of legacy will you leave behind? Are you actively seeking out others to mentor in the ways of Jesus or are you living a comfortable life knowing that you and your family know Jesus and that’s good enough? I’m going to challenge you to find someone to mentor, whether that be someone in your neighborhood, someone at a nursing home that needs to know Jesus and be loved on, or someone else that you know needs to have a “Jesus coach” and an accountability partner. I believe in you, and so does Jesus!

GO FOR IT AND GO MULTIPLY YOURSELF!!!
