Have You Fallen in Love Yet?

“Your destiny isn’t the stuff you’re going to do. Your destiny is the people you’re going to LOVE.”

I was listening to Shawn Bolz several months ago and heard him say the above statement. He was speaking about a friend that knew his calling but wasn’t seeing it come forth. He then asked him if he had fallen in love yet. It struck my heart deeply. It hasn’t left my heart or mind since.

Think about it. Many people know what their callings are or at least some piece of what they want to do. Many are even taking practical steps to start walking that calling out. I know that is something I am currently doing in my own life. Sometimes though, we can focus more on the stuff we are going to do and forget the whole point of doing the stuff. We may not always forget the “why” but sometimes I think we forget that the why is actually a “WHO!”

Who do you have the opportunity of loving through your actions and calling? Jesus didn’t come for a why but for a “who.” That “who” is His bride, the joy set before him, the sons and daughters of God Almighty. Jesus had fallen in love with us. He knew the things He had to do but His focus was on who He loved. Could you imagine being so in love with someone that you would go the extent He did? Would you be willing to take the steps that He took to fulfill His calling? His destiny was us, the ones He knew before the foundation of the world.

These are the thoughts that filled my mind after hearing Shawn Bolz speak. I realized so many things that I wanted to do were well intentioned, meaningful and attempting to love others, but I really hadn’t fallen in love yet. Not like Jesus and the way he had fallen in love with us.

Since then I have been asking the Lord to show me the faces of those who are my destiny. I want to see their faces and fall in love with them.

In September, I am going to Cambodia for the first time. I will be participating in Operation Prayer Strike (http://www.xpministries.com/event/ops-cambodia-september-2017/).

I am absolutely stoked and grateful for the opportunity to go. My main focus leading up to September though is to sit with Jesus and let him tell me about those he so loves there. I’m asking God to show me how to fall in love with each person I will encounter there. I’m looking to fall in love with the people and the nation before I even get there.

What about you? Have you fallen in love yet?
