Blessed to Be a Blessing

Sponsoring a child is a gift like no other. This is a picture my sponsor son in Cambodia made for me. I love his view on life! When I first became a sponsor, I thought it would be all about changing the child’s life. I really did not think it would have any impact on me or my family. I was wrong. I was completely taken by surprise. Through every letter and picture that I received, a place was being made in my heart for him. Even though we are far in distance, a bond has formed. I get prompted by Holy Spirit when he needs prayer or encouragement. He has become part of our family. I am a mom of a birth child, an adopted child, and now a sponsored child. I say “More Lord More!”

A long time ago, God told me I would love each child as my own. I had no idea at the time what He was up to, but I can tell you now, it’s so true. When we truly carry and express the love that God has poured into us, we can’t help but love whoever He puts on our path. For me, it’s children.

As we get ready to celebrate Mother’s Day, I am finding myself wanting to celebrate all the women that have become Sponsor Moms. What a gift the Lord has given you. If it is possible, send your child a letter or a picture of how happy you are that they are in your life. I know that my sponsor son will be a prophet over many nations. I know to cover him in prayer daily, bless him as much as I can, and help strengthen him for the calling that is on his life. I am so thankful to be able to go to Cambodia and see this little boy grow into an amazing man of God. If sponsorship has never crossed your mind, please spend some time in prayer; I know God will speak to you. Somewhere out there is your sponsor child, and God will lead you to that child. Yes, we are blessing their lives; but I promise you, your life will be blessed beyond measure. Join me on this journey to see every child taken care of from Nation to Nation. It’s all about love. Be His Love.

“The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.” – Proverbs 11:25
